IWEARLACE was founded by Marina Voronina in 2019 to share her passion for frivolité and create jewellery with a modern allure, where quality, craftsmanship, and attention to detail are at the heart of the brand.
Marina was born in a small coastal town in Lithuania. Twelve years later, she moved to Moscow, where she learned a traditional lace technique called frivolité, and it became her passion ever since. In addition to her creative journey, Marina holds a degree in art and cultural tourism, as well as a degree in Business & Accountancy from the UK. Her extended stay in London nurtured her love for art, design, and creativity. It was only when she moved to her new home in the Netherlands in 2016 that her dream could finally come true, and thus, the IWEARLACE brand was born in 2019.
Frivolité is a unique handcrafting technique that creates lace-like fabric through knotting rather than weaving. The way Marina uses this technique is extraordinary and sometimes surprising, from her choice of threads to shapes, lace manipulations, and combinations with other, at times unconventional materials.
Inspired by nature, her travels, and various cultures, all jewellery is handmade by Marina in her home studio in Scheveningen.
Marina also accepts custom orders and is eager to hear your wishes and make them a reality.
Through her IWEARLACE brand, Marina strives to redefine frivolité for the contemporary world, breathe new life into this rare craft, and pass it on to the new generations.

IWEARLACE was door Marina Voronina in 2019 opgericht om haar passie voor frivolité te delen en sieraden met een moderne allure te maken, waarbij kwaliteit, vakmanschap en detailwerk centraal in het merk staan.
Marina was geboren in een kleine kustplaats in Litouwen. Twaalf jaar later verhuisde zij naar Moskou, waar zij frivolité - een traditionele kanttechniek - leerde en sindsdien werd het haar passie. Naast haar creatieve reis heeft Marina ook een diploma in kunst en cultureel toerisme behaald, evenals een diploma in Business & Accountancy in het VK. Marina woonde lange tijd in Londen en het voedde haar liefde voor kunst, design en creativiteit. Door in 2016 naar haar nieuwe huis in Nederland te verhuizen, kon haar droom eindelijk uitkomen en zo werd in 2019 het merk IWEARLACE geboren.
Frivolité is een uniek handwerktechniek, waarbij op kant-lijkend weefsel wordt vervaardigd, en er niet gevlogen of geweven wordt, maar geknoopt.
De manier waarop Marina de frivolité techniek gebruikt is heel bijzonder en soms verassend, van de keuze van de garen die zij gebruikt tot de vormen, kantmanipulaties en combinaties met andere, soms onconventionele materialen.
Geïnspireerd door de natuur, haar reizen en door verschillende culturen, worden alle sieraden met de hand gemaakt door Marina in haar thuisatelier op Scheveningen.
Marina neemt ook bestellingen aan voor op maat gemaakte stukken, en zij staat er graag voor open om uw wensen te horen en ze werkelijkheid te laten worden.
Met haar merk IWEARLACE Marina probeert frivolité te herdefiniëren voor de hedendaagse wereld, een nieuw leven te geven en dit zeldzame ambacht door te geven aan de nieuwe generaties.
